Castel Giorgio – Romealla Waterfalls

In the countryside around Castel Giorgio in the direction of Citerno and Lapone there is the course of the clear Romealla stream. In this area, accessible for those accustomed to forest paths and a lover of trekking, the jump of the stream generates a picturesque waterfall. In a pristine and suggestive environment nearby there is also a prehistoric cave and the “hill of thrown stones”: an interesting site where original prism-shaped volcanic rocks are visible generated by contact with water of magma erupted thousands of years ago from one of the volcanoes in the so-called Vulsino Volcanic district.
