The Days of New Oil

2-24 NOVEMBER – 14-15 DECEMBER IT IS HOLIDAY TIME, THE NEW OIL HAS ARRIVED!

At the Al Vecchio Frantoio Bartolomei in Montecchio, the festival dedicated to the Days of New Oil is coming.

The Days of New Oil at the Bartolomei Oil Mill are also back this year, tastier than ever. Four weekends full of taste and fun, to celebrate the precious green nectar that is in this part of Umbria, one of the production areas of excellence.

The absolute protagonist of the event is one: Olive Oil. The ways to enhance it are innumerable: from tastings of typical products paired with beer from a local producer, to Saturday dinners by chef Daniele Guidantoni and typical lunches on Sunday.

Moments that will be made even more enjoyable by Quad excursions in the olive groves and live concerts. Ladri di Monnalisa, Carro Bestiame, BMV Cabrio and Margherita Rinaldi’s Brazilian Project will take turns in the four weekends of the event. All in the unique setting of the oil mill in operation, with the collection of olives, tastings of fresh oil and a visit to the Oil Museum.

Many different ways to tell a product and its territory which also comes to life through two exhibitions: the photographic one by Luca Marani entitled “Di Natura e Paesaggi” and the Victoria sculptures one, “The love knots”. You will then be able to meet two exceptional characters, Anna and Romeo, faces of I Giorni dell’Olio Nuovo 2019, chosen to represent Montecchio and its authenticity.

New this year is the Christmas Special. On 14 and 15 December there will still be two occasions to get to know the civilizations of oil up close and savor the dishes of chef Daniele Guidantoni.

The Days of New Oil is an event included in the program of the regional open oil mill event.

Al Vecchio Frantoio Bartolomei is one of the oldest mills in Montecchio, a place of choice for the production of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and, in particular, of the DOP Colli Orvietani. The olive tree here, is even depicted in the center of the municipal coat of arms, testifying to the strong link between this plant and the local economy.
