Fabro – Calanchi

The Calanchi is wide valley that extends on the southeast side of Fabro in the valley of the Chiani river. This particular area of the territory has a suggestive landscape, is characterized by the nourished presence of clay soils with scarce vegetation due to the effect of water washouts that have eroded and shaped over time creating deep grooves in the ground that are called badlands. With their harsh and wild appearance, the badlands recreate an almost “lunar” landscape that often gives life to spectacular natural formations.
