Address: zona San Lazzaro – Fabro (TR)
An area between Fabro and Ficulle. Much of this land in the locality of San Lazzaro was covered in the past by sea, and the slow but progressive retreat left clay sediments, and fossil evidence from the Pliocene period (5-1.8 million years ago). Deposits have remained a large quantity of molluscs that have not completed the fossilization process. The area for the large amount of fossils of marine origin, is therefore called “San Lazzaro beach” and constitutes a sort of real open-air museum.
