Guided tours of the convent and Buzziana city all year round by booking groups of min. 8 people.
The history of this place is very fascinating and controversial, but it is nothing compared to the truly magical atmosphere that you breathe once you get there.
It is said that San Francesco of Assisi founded the Convent of the Scarzuola in 1218, where he planted a laurel and a rose, and resulted in a source for which people still have a lot of devotion. The Convent owes its name to the scarza, a marsh plant with which the Seraphic built a hut. The traces of the saint are clearly visible in this place with spiritual and earthly features and elements. In the church there is a fresco from the first half of the 13th century, one of the first portraits of the saint in levitation.
