Free tasting at the Luigi Fumi Municipal Library from 7:00pm
Pasto del Posto (local dishes): Saturday August 31, 2019 from 7:00pm, at the Municipal Library, free tastings of local products. The Terre d’Orvieto partnership participates in the final evening of ONE- Orvieto Notti Estate (summer nights), offering a closing evening of local food and agriculture excellencies that will tell od our land under the expert guidance of local farmers, the main custodians of the territory.
“Pellicole e panieri. Al Cinema con i prodotti delle Terre d’Orvieto” is the name of the tasting included in the billboard of ONE – Orvieto Notti d’Estate, a summer event that from July 31st has enlivened the Orvieto evenings with the projection of outdoor films in one of the most suggestive places of the town.
The last event will be food and wine products of Orvieto. For two hours a selection of the best agro-food productions of short supply chain, coming from local farms, will show themselves offering tastings and being judged by participants.
It is the fortunate formula of the “Pasto del Posto”, local products that, transformed or “nature”, are offered as a regular meal for those who live in these places. These initiatives (funded by the RDP for Umbria measure 188.8.131.52.) have the objective of promoting short supply chains and local markets, promoting the knowledge of productions also through direct contact with those who are their creators. You can learn about the wonderful dairy products and the fantastic milk artisans, the ancient grains and their bread, the procession of delicious legumes, the superb extra virgin olive oil, the honeys and the theory of related delights and a rich catalog of wines.

The partnership “Terre di Orvieto”
It is a private/public partnership, made up of the Municipality of Orvieto and 12 local farms, created to enhance and promote local agri-food excellencies of short supply chains.
In the “Terre d’Orvieto” there are some of the most important experiences of recovery of the original characters of the Orvieto tradition, increasingly accompanied by a specific attention to the environmental sustainability of the productions.
Next to the wine, celebrated since the Etruscans, there are oils, cheeses, ancient cereals, legumes, saffron, honey and compotes.
