Montegabbione – Serpolla Oasis

The Serpolla oasis is an area of extraordinary naturalistic landscape with great biodiversity where the predominant wooded area in the territory between Montegabbione and part of San Venanzo alternates harmoniously with areas with herbaceous vegetation and others cultivated in a way extensive. The farms and livestock present with Chianini bradi cattle have low environmental impact. The fauna is equally varied and important: in particular there are predators such as the wild cat, the marten and the wolf. Other mammals worthy of mention are roe deer, badger, porcupine and fallow deer can be observed sporadically. Numerous birds of prey are present in the area such as the honey buzzard, Biancone, Poiana, black kite and the real Albanella.
