Originally called “Villa del Corgnolo” built by the Gualterio family and subsequently sold to the Viti-Mariani family of Orvieto. The Marquise Paolina Viti modified its original structure and the villa took its current name from it Villa Paolina. Today the villa looks like an elegant architectural complex which with its Italian-style avenues and gardens represents one of the historical parks of major regional importance as well as the headquarters of the Institute of Agri-Food and Forest Biology (of the CNR) and also hosts various cultural events.
The park of the villa, of about 10 hectares, a beautiful example of an Italian garden with 4 different areas in which as many decorated stone fountains stand out including the wonderful Fontana delle Conchiglie, as well as ancient trees and several botanical species.
Villa Paolina and its park can be visited by reservation. The villa can also be combined with a guided tour of Castel Rubello.
